FIRST LEGO League CHALLENGE Teams at Wellesley Middle School
Team Ultraviolet has partnered with Wellesley Middle School to offer FIRST LEGO League Challenge Teams! Our rookie teams placed 9th and 19th out of 36 teams in 2022. We also won the award for exemplifying FIRST values (Discovery, Impact, Teamwork), an award we are very proud of. We look forward to building our experience, welcoming new members, and continuing the learning and, of course, fun! ​
Interested families with 6th-8th grade children are invited to reach out to us for more information. Teams are limited by FIRST to 10 registered students per team and we are limited to two teams. However, we do our best to accommodate over-flow interest in the form of “alternate” roles. Our teams are formed during July of each year for the August-December Season. We meet at WMS weekly either Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs from 2:30-4:15, Sep-Dec.

About ​FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL)
FLL introduces STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) to children through fun, exciting hands-on learning. Participants gain real-world problem-solving experience through a guided, global robotics program, helping today’s students and teachers build a better future together. FIRST LEGO League’s three age-appropriate divisions inspire young people to experiment and grow their critical thinking, coding, and design skills through hands-on STEM learning and robotics.

Team registration is managed by Wellesley Middle School's science and technology/engineering department. Student interest surveys are sent to students in June of each year. The surveys are used to assess student interest before teams are formed. Preference is given to rising 7th and 8th graders.
